Site Superintendent
ANTICIPATED START DATE: Immediate Hire
POSITION TYPE: Full-time
LOCATION: Various Job Sites located in Virginia and North Carolina
TRAVEL: Travel is required for this position; Site Superintendents are typically on job sites for four months to a year.
SALARY RANGE: $45,000 - $75,000

EXPERIENCE:
Proven experience as a Site Superintendent on projects valued over 1.6 million dollars. The ideal candidate will have at least five years’ experience with commercial construction, with a focus on estimating, supervision of job sites and contractors, experience reading plans, and excellent problem solving skills.
EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience will be considered.
JOB BRIEF: A Site Superintendent for Rhetson Companies is responsible the supervision for all construction aspects of a project from pre-construction plan review to construction completion-this includes, but is not limited to:
Review and comprehension of plans
Setting and adhering to an aggressive construction schedule
Daily communication with Project Managers about the project
Management of all subcontractors
Communication with various clients of Rhetson Companies
Sending weekly updates and pictures to the Project Management Team
Familiarity and adherence to OSHA standards
Updating company spreadsheets
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds at a time to facilitate the site layout and move materials as needed
Ability to operate heavy machinery, certification of training is preferred but not required
Ability to traverse unlevel terrain and to stand and walk job sites for multiple hours each day
Ability to travel to job sites – sometimes up to 4-5 hours from the office
Familiarity with quality and construction safety standards
Knowledge of civil and building permitting
Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
Possess organizational and time management skills
Ability to represent the Company in a variety of situations such as one-on-one meetings with inspectors
Strong interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, motivation) skills paired with the appropriate emotional intelligence
Ability to collaborate and manage many different subcontractors
Construction experience on jobs valued at over $1,000,000 USD
