Construction Project Manager

ANTICIPATED START DATE: Immediate Hire

POSITION TYPE: Full-time

LOCATION: Primarily office-based position in West End, NC

TRAVEL: Travel is required for this position; Project Managers are required to visit their sites during all stages of the project.  Travel may be overnight.

BASE SALARY: Starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, and experience

EXPERIENCE: Proven experience as a Project Manager or Leadership experience with a team larger than ten individuals.  The ideal candidate will have at least five years’ experience with commercial construction, with a focus on estimating, supervision of job sites and subcontractors, experience reading plans, and developing team members. 

 

EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management or related field is encouraged; equivalent work experience will be considered.  

 

JOB BRIEF: A Project Manager for Rhetson Companies is responsible for all aspects of a project to include the coordination and completion of projects on-time, and within budget. Projects responsibilities to include, but not limited to the following:

  • Familiarize self with construction documents, collect bids and verify for accuracy and qualification of bidding subcontractors.

  • Create construction schedule and update throughout the project.

  • Manage subcontractor work orders, schedules, and materials.

  • Complete material take-off, order materials, line up and coordinate utilities, and coordinate material deliveries.

  • Daily communication with site superintendents and owners

  • Manage all aspects of project closeouts including punch lists, permit closeouts, and bond release.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel to job sites – sometimes up to 4-5 hours from the office

  • Familiarity with quality and construction safety standards

  • Understanding of Pre-engineered Metal Building construction

  • Knowledge of civil and building permitting

  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills

  • Possess organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to collaborate and manage diverse project teams

  • Thorough understanding of job cost reporting, billing and payable procedures

  • Knowledge of web based Project Management software
